Dear Compass Community,
I am writing to let you know that this will be my last year as Executive Director of Compass High School. I look forward to finishing this year with a strong team of faculty and educational leaders, completing the important milestone of WASC accreditation, and supporting the school as it transitions to a new director.
My last day will be June 30, 2018. My primary reason for this decision is the geographic distance between my home and Compass and the lengthy commute to work. Putting in so many hours on the road has taken a toll on me and on my family – not to mention the environment! Recently I had my fifth anniversary as head of Compass and I think it’s an excellent time to pass the reins of leadership to a new director.
I’m very proud to have founded Compass High School. Being able to bring my years of experience and knowledge of education to a project that has always valued innovation and collaboration has been very fulfilling. It has been a particular joy for me to have worked so closely with over fifty wonderful and talented teenagers over the last five years. I am very grateful for the years spent at Compass creating a school where we make a difference in the lives of students and families and in the educational landscape. I’ll miss everyone.
With gratitude and high hopes for the future,
