Students with learning differences are outside-the-box thinkers. At the same time, many of them lack confidence in their artistic talent because of delays in fine motor development. At Compass High School, we strive to help students find their creative voices, enjoy the process of making art, and experiment with a variety of media. As Compass High School grows in size and our elective program expands, we will be offering courses in visual and performing arts as well as music. While our faculty is growing, we will provide students with chances to participate in the arts through our extracurricular program. Students will be able to join after-school art clubs and work with visiting artists.
Our specialized teachers will also integrate the arts into academic units to ensure that they are interdisciplinary and engaging. This is because we believe that unlocking the creative potential of every child will also help with develop their academics. Our approach to learning is a comprehensive one that takes into consideration the needs of each child.
