Andrea Adelmann brings more than 18 years of nonprofit experience at the national and local level, to Compass High School. She co-founded Compass High School in 2012 after identifying an educational need for her own daughter as well as other students on the San Francisco Bay Area. With a corporate background in Finance and Accounting, Andrea was named the school’s opening Chief Financial Officer. She was named Board Chair in December 2015. Andrea is currently a Referral Coordinator of Early Intervention Services, providing remote support for families in Fairfax County, Virginia. Concurrently she serves as Board Treasurer for The Shaken Baby Alliance, a national nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, Texas.
Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, Andrea had a successful career as a hotel controller with Marriott International in northern and southern California and New Mexico. She is married and the mother of two high school-aged children, one of whom is a survivor of Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma. She holds a BA in German from UC Davis and pursued graduate coursework in Accounting at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University.
