Letter From The Head of School:

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about Compass High School.

Compass High School was founded in March of 2012 by a group of parents and educators concerned about the need for a school on the San Francisco Peninsula that was specifically designed for students with learning differences. From the start, our mission at Compass High School has been to provide a supportive, individualized education for talented students with learning differences.

Since opening our doors to our first cohort of students in 2013, Compass has experienced continuous growth and seen real results reflected in the successes of our graduates. With a 90% matriculation rate of students moving on to colleges and universities after graduation, we feel confident that our unique approach is making a difference for those we serve. Our staff works together using a treatment team approach, comprised of highly trained teachers and specialized therapists and counselors in the fields of speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, and educational therapy/tutoring, all collaborating to address the needs of our students in a holistic way. Our innovative, multi-sensory teaching approach helps students learn at their own pace, while nurturing creativity.

By utilizing evidence-based curriculum and techniques, we have helped our students develop learning strategies, social competence, and self-advocacy skills intended to provide the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.

We hope our website will give you a brief overview of the unique program we have created. For further information, please give us a call and learn more about how we guide, strengthen and inspire our students. We hope you will leave inspired as well.
