Summer Learning

Compass High School offers a three week summer learning program in mid-June each year. The summer learning program is available to students entering 6th through 12th grades.

Our summer program is designed to capitalize on time away from school to shore up essential skills in reading comprehension, writing, executive functioning, and mathematics. We employ engaging, hands-on and project-based lessons to address these global areas. When not in class, our students have the opportunity to engage in extra-curricular activities ranging from sports to art clubs.

Compass also offers a College Transition program. We focus on writing the college essay for a week, preparing for the ACT and SAT tests for another week, and visiting Five Colleges in Five Days for the third week. Rising juniors, seniors or recent graduates are provided with academic support and college advising by faculty with expertise in guiding high school students with learning differences to success in college.
