Barbara is teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. She has 8 years of teaching experience in Oregon, and 6 years in California. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, and a Masters in Education from George Fox University in Oregon. At a parochial school in California, Barbara created and implemented the curriculum for Spanish students K-8. She taught Spanish in Oregon for middle school and high school. She has studied in Puebla, Mexico and traveled throughout the country, as well as visiting Spain and Chile. Her preference is for small classes and 1:1 tutoring. She feels she can better get to know students in small groups and design activities around their learning styles and needs. When students are comfortable in their learning experience, much can be accomplished. Barbara was delighted to meet Leo at Compass High School because she has two house rabbits of her own, and she enjoys them immensely!
